2024 has started off with great momentum! Our team at YYZ continues to provide safe, reliable, and consistent services to our clients at Pearson Airport.
While we have worked on multiple projects over the last few months, the highlight has been the support both AAI and CASS have provided the GTAA for the construction of the Terminal 3 EBS (Early Bag Storage) System. Our team at CASS has provided contingency baggage handling support since the middle of October due to the irregular baggage operation caused by the construction on the baggage system in Terminal 3.
During the multiple phases of this project, our baggage team has remained agile and adaptive to an operation that presented various challenges or changes. A job well done to all team members. In conjunction with the baggage handling support, our Security Escorting Team at AAI has provided regular support to the construction and technology companies involved in the EBS project; PCL, Beumer & Unitech, ensuring materials and construction workers move in and out of the job site safely and efficiently. Overall, our entire organization is proud to continue to play a key role in moving Pearson into the future with infrastructure advancement.
Looking ahead, we have another busy Airside Construction Season quickly approaching. Personally, it feels like we just finished the 2023Airside Restoration season yesterday, yet the 2024 season will be here in just a few short weeks. I know our teams have been busy ensuring we will be appropriately prepared for the project demands and I am confident we will once again be able to meet the needs of the Airside Rest oration program. For our AAI staff, please ensure you have your credentials and training up to date so we can start the season at full force, we will once again need all hands-on deck to meet our requirements. If you have any questions or require support do not hesitate to reach out myself, Mo, our supervisors, or support staff for clarity.
To our baggage team, I hope you’re ready for another busy summer! Pearson Airport is expected to hit increasing amounts of passenger volumes that will require CASS to provide increased, adaptive support once again to the GTAA. Given our operational track record, I have nothing but confidence our team will continue to perform The CASS Way. Overall, as an organization we continue to move forward and progress in a direction that should make us all incredibly proud.
Our operating environment can sometimes be chaotic for reasons beyond our control, Pearson Airport is truly a unique place, and our teams continue to perform to a high standard. As always, I need to thank some key staff members; Denise, Mo, Raffi, Clovis, Antonia, Steph, Osmond, Stewart, Anne, and all our supervisors, over and over you are pillars of stability to our operations, thank you isn’t enough to describe how appreciative I am of you all but thank you, thank you, thank you. Onwards we go.
As always, thank you to our clients, without you, we are nothing. I value the relationships we continue to build, and I look forward to the many ventures we will take on in 2024. I hope to see you all at our client appreciation golf tournament on July 4th, 2024, at Royal Woodbine Golf Club! – invites to be sent out in the next few weeks.
Until next time,
