What is a D AVOP and What Does it Entail?
A D AVOP is a privilege and needs to be earned and respected. It allows the holder to operate a vehicle on all airside surfaces (aprons, service roads, taxiways, and runways) in the performance of their duties. With this permit, the D AVOP may drive on controlled surfaces as long as Calgary Ground gives authorization to enter these areas.
What is the Process to Get a D AVOP?
If you currently have a valid DA AVOP and you are interested in upgrading to your D AVOP, come see me in the Training Department!!
Other factors include availability, attendance, and willingness to learn. The entire process is about 10-12 days and includes in class training and practical 1 on1 training on the Airfield.
Currently we have had completed 3 D AVOP Classes successfully thanks to the hard work and dedication put in by our dedicated and committed candidates.
A big heart felt congratulations go out to our newest members of the AAI D AVOP Program: Sultan, Charanjeet, Emiko, & Toula who have moved to the next phase of learning with OJT on all project types; and now with another new phase of D AVOP’s with Zack, Martin, Pierre, Satwant, Mikhail, Susan, and Steve our newest D AVOP and employee! And more right around the corner!!!
Great work team keep it
